Students beg Gov Ahmed to settle bursary arrears

Date: 2016-12-09

Students under the aegis of the National Association of Kwara State Students (NAKSS) yesterday appealed to the state government to pay their arrears of bursary allowances.

They also asked the state government to settle the 14 months of salary areas owed lecturers of the state-owned College of Education, Oro.

The students who stormed the press centre of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Ilorin to express their concerns in an address by the association's vice president, Comrade, Dosunmu Ashola, said they were worst hit by the recession.

They reminded the state government of the need to redeem its pledge to offset students' bursary allowance as soon as the financial situation of the state improved.
