A revenue collector, Mr. Mohammed Danjuma, has been arrested for possessing a fake Army identification card and two fake Department of State Services identity cards.

Commissioner of Police, Kwara State Command, Mr. Olusola Amore, who paraded Danjuma and other suspects arrested for various offences in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital on Thursday said troops from 22 Armoured Brigade, Sobi Cantonment, Ilorin arrested Danjuma with the fake ID cards.

Thirty-five-year-old Danjuma, who is from Alagbado area of Ilorin, said he is a revenue collector for a timber association in the state. He stated that he had a lover who is a soldier and he took the lady's Army ID when he visited her house because he had keys to her apartment.

Danjuma said, "There was a day she was not at home. She went for her duty and her house key was with me. I went to her room and took her ID card. I duplicated it with a printer two weeks ago.

"On my way to the barracks, military police stopped me. They asked if I was a soldier, I said no. When they searched me, they saw the Army ID card on me. I told them that I got it from one of my girlfriends. They asked who she was and I told them she was a soldier at the Sobi Barracks in Ilorin. They brought her to identify me and later arrested me."

Amore also said the police command arrested Mr. Adisa Yusuf of Alaba Compound, Oja-Iya, Ilorin, Mr. Onaolapo Bolaji of No. 29 Taiwo Road, Ilorin and Mr. Lekan Bello for alleged armed robbery as well as Mr. Issa Nurudeen on suspicion of kidnapping and armed robbery.

The CP said Bello was arrested when he and two others at large, went to rob Walex Pharmacy in Gaa-Akanbi area of Ilorin. Amore further said all the suspects would be arraigned soon.
