Government Day Secondary School (GDSS), Odo Okuh, Kwara State's boy cricket team has won the inaugural edition of the FCT Secondary School summer holiday cricket championship, tagged 'President Cup' staged at the Abuja National Stadium.

The team defeated their counterparts from Government Secondary School Bwari; FCT in yesterday's final with 120 runs to emerge champions.

In keenly contested final, GDSS Kwara batted first and scored 158 for the loss of three wicked for 20 ovals. While the Bwari GSS' team batted second and scored 38 runs all out in 10 ovals.

The two days event was put together by the President of the Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF), Emeka Onyeama in collaboration with FCT Cricket Association as part of plan toward discovering new talents and promotes the development of cricket at the grassroots. Six secondary schools from FCT, Niger and Kwara participated in the championship.
