2014 Confab a Mere Jamboree - Oloyede

Date: 2016-07-12

The Secretary-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Professor Ishaq. Oloyede has described the 2014 National Conference in the country as a mere jamboree.

Oloyede, who was a former vice chancellor of University of Ilorin, made the remark recently while speaking with journalists in Ilorin, Kwara state capital, on the state of the nation.

He said that the composition of those who participated in the conference was not good enough.

He added, "The confab only provided an avenue for some people to meet and enjoy the national cake."

Oloyede, who was also a delegate at the national confab, said, "Some of the recommendations made were faulty, although a few were good."
