NHIS to enrol 20 million pupils in health insurance
The National Health Insurance Scheme, NHIS, has commenced the enrolment of 20 million public primary school pupils in the insurance programme.
General Manager, NHIS North Central Zonal Office, Alhaji Idris Mohammed told Newsmen in Asa LGA that the enrolment would start from Kwara state.
He said 15,000 pupils in Asa would be captured in the scheme.Alhaji Mohammed explained that the state government would provide counterpart funding for the scheme. The State Coordinator of NHS, Allhaji Ganiyu Onimajesin said Kwara has started capturing biometric data of the pupils for the healthcare scheme.
