KWSG Begins Repositioning of Radio Kwara, Kwara TV & Herald
The sole administrator of the media houses, Dr. Femi Akorede who disclosed this in a statement, said that the infrastructure upgrading would be followed by provision of modern equipment such as digital transmitters, play-out systems, consoles, HD cameras, and new studios. He added that the state government will also purchase new operational vehicles for the media outfits.
According to him, the restructuring process will also cover training of the work-force and improvement in the editorial direction of the media establishments.
The sole administrator further said that the staff of the media houses will be trained on organizational and personal effectiveness in consonance with current realities and industry trends.
Akorede noted that the repositioning of the media outfits comprising Kwara TV, Radio Kwara and The Herald newspaper was being carried out to improve their efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery, and make them more competitive.
He stressed that this would also make them self-sustaining, as well as increase their revenue generation capacity.
It will be recalled that the had promised that his administration would work towards repositioning the state-owned media houses for better efficiency.
