Date: 2016-03-23

Bukola Saraki, senate president, arrived late for a meeting of the caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday night.

Former vice-president Atiku Abubakar also arrived late for the meeting which was held behind closed doors with President Muhammadu Buhari at new banquet hall of the presidential villa.

Saraki is currently fighting charges of false declaration of assets at the Code of Conduct Tribunal. The meeting started at 8pm when Buhari arrived, but Atiku and Saraki got to the hall thereafter.

Other party leaders at the meeting were Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo; Yakubu Dogara, speaker of the house of representatives; Yusuf Lasun, his deputy; John Odigie-Oyeigun, the APC national chairman; and Bola Tinubu, former governor of Lagos state.
