Why We Can No Longer Sell Petrol At N86.50k - Kwara IPMAN

Date: 2016-03-06

The Kwara State Chairman of Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, Mr. Olanrewaju Okanlawon, said members of the association in the state can no longer sell premium motor spirit popularly called petrol at the approved price of N86.50 per litre.

Speaking with journalists in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, on Friday, Okanlawon said about 600 members of IPMAN had resolved to sell the commodity at prices in conformity with their operational costs. He said the inadequate supply of petrol from the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation depots has forced members to patronise private depot owners, who he alleged sold the product at N107 per litre. He added that members cannot continue to shut down their petrol stations as they have not been able to pay salaries to their workers for the past five months.
