The 17 years of Gani Adams as leader of the OPC has been a major disaster in the history of the Oodua People's Congress (OPC), following the revolution that led to a change of guard in the leadership with a young, 29- year- old Gani Adams, replacing the elderly Dr. Frederick Fasehun.

Fasehun was accused by Gani Adams of collecting money from politicians (the sum total of which is less than 20 million naira), Adams has collected billions of naira –both local and foreign currencies- from all manners of politicians without consideration for political leanings and tendencies.

In a statement signed by the coordinator of OPC, Comrade Adeshina Akinpelu, said that, the former okada rider now lives a more flamboyant lifestyle than the already made medical doctor he replaced.

Furthermore, Gani Adams has mortgaged the lives and existence of the entire cadre of the OPC in order to maintain and sustain his pretentious lifestyle.

"Today, and with the benefit of his position as the leader of the OPC, Adams sits atop a long list of assets and raw cash. There is a house built at Abule-Ado with money from Asiwaju Tinubu. There is also another one built in his village, Arigidi, Ondo state. He has houses in Ibeju-Lekki, Omole Phase (II) (worth over 500m), and another at Okota, Lagos (worth 50m) as well as one in Tema, Ghana and Manchester in UK among others" Adeshina said.
