A/Court again upholds Saraki's election

Date: 2015-12-11

The Court of Appeal sitting in Ilorin yesterday dismissed the appeal file against Senator Bukola Saraki over the March 28 Kwara central senatorial election.

Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had challenged the election of Senator Bukola Saraki which was earlier upheld by the election petition tribunal ?in Ilorin in October.

Abdulrasaq had gone to the appeal court on the grounds that his petition was not treated well.

Presiding Judge of the Court, Justice J.S. Ikyegh, while reading the judgment, said there was no basis ?for the appeal as the appellant did not prove his case with enough witnesses.

He, therefore, dismissed the appeal.
