Kwara Assembly Seeks Employment Of Quality Health Personnel
    
The Kwara State House of Assembly has urged the state government to as a matter of policy employ qualified health personnel who are passionate about the job and are ready to work in any part of the state to ensure quality service delivery in the health sector.
This forms part of resolutions reached by the House after considering a motion on improving health care delivery services to the people of the state moved by a member representing Kaiama, Wajibe, Kemanji Constituency, Hon. Ahmed ibn Mohammed on the floor of the House.
The resolution was necessitated by the need to ensure improved health care delivery in the State.
Reading the resolutions of the House, the Speaker, Dr. Ali Ahmad also urged the State Ministry of Health to put in place effective monitoring strategy to ensure that health personnel adequately respond to the needs of patients across the state especially during emergency situation.
The House according to the Speaker equally directed the State Commissioner for Health and the hierarchy of the State Bureau of Health Management to appear before the House Committee on Health, Environment and Forestry to brief the House on their plan to address the non-challant attitude of health workers in the state.
Hon. Mohammed who moved the motion said among other things that the non challant attitude of health personnel had led to avoidable death of the sick or victims of road carnages in the state.
The Speaker also at the sitting read the letter of the State Governor Alhaji AbdulFatah Ahmed responding to the resolutions of the House on the request for the House resolution on the proposed 7year (2016-2023) N20b bond for some critical development projects in the State.
