A Chief Magistrate's Court in Ilorin, Kwara State, yesterday ordered the remand of Chumo Dole and Chumo Bello in prison for allegedly killing their friend, Kiri Lawal.

The case, according to the First Information Report, was transferred from the Divisional Police Headquarters in Share to Criminal Investigation and Intelligence, Ilorin.

It was gathered that on September 26, one Alhaji Umar Abubakar reported at the station that on the same day, some Fulani boys engaged in a fight at Iyana cattle market.

"A team of detectives led by Asp. Gabriel Maha went to the scene where they met Kiri Lawal and one Ismahil Sule, lying in a pole of blood with multiple injuries on their heads. The victims were rushed to the hospital, where Kiri Lawal died and Ismahil Sule is still receiving treatment", the prosecution said.

It added: "Investigation conducted at the department revealed that Chumo Dole and Chumo Bello, both from the same family had a misunderstanding with Kiri Lawal and Ismahil Sule and they conspired and attacked the deceased and the other victim with cutlasses."

The accused were charged for criminal conspiracy, causing hurt and culpable homicide, offences that contravene Sections 97, 242 and 221 of the Penal Code.

Magistrate O.S.Balogun ordered that they should be remanded at the Mandala Prison Yard and adjourned the case to December 2.
