The lawmaker representing Ilorin East and South Federal Constituency, Dr. Abubakar Amuda Kanike, has appointed 23 people to serve as liaison officers under his empowerment scheme.

Speaking during the presentation of the appointment letters to the liaison officers, the lawmaker described the gesture as a fulfilled promise made to the people of his constituency during the electioneering campaign.

He said every elected political office-holder in the country had entered a covenant with the electorate.

He however urged the beneficiaries across the twenty three wards in his constituency to be focused and determined in the discharge of their responsibilities by coming out with relevant information that would improve the living conditions of their people.

According to him, 69 people were selected across the twenty three wards with the minimum of O’ level certificates to write aptitude test and the best were selected.

He promised the remaining 46 people a free computer training programme.
