NPL: 'Why Kwara lost at Taraba'

Date: 2015-09-01

Glo Premier League side Kwara United has attributed its 3-0 loss to Nasarawa United in their Week 26 game of the season to bad officiating by the center referee, Folorunsho Ajayi

A statement from the club yesterday frowned at a situation where two red cards were issued to Kwara players, in addition to other questionable calls which led to the visitors conceding three goals in 29 minutes.

"It is regrettable that the referee misinterpreted the rules throughout the game," the statement said. "The referee even allowed our opponents to score the third goal when our player was fouled by two Taraba players," it added, stressing, "We appeal to the League Management Committee to ensure that only referees with good track record officiate the remaining matches in the league."
