Rain renders over 100 homeless in Kwara

Date: 2015-05-03

No fewer than 100 residents of Kosubosu , a community in Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara, were rendered homeless on Friday night as a result of a rainstorm. The rain, the first in the year, affected more than 25 buildings.

A similar disaster occurred in the community in 2014, with hundreds of residents, including a 95 year-old woman , affected.

The spokesperson of the local government council, Jubril Masene, whose house was also affected, described the incident as devastating.

Mr. Masene appealed to government at all levels and well-meaning individuals to come to the aid of the affected residents to alleviating their hardship.
