Lawyer wants sacked govs to return pay
AN Ilorin, Kwara State-based human rights lawyer, Abeny Mohammed, has canvassed a refund of salaries drawn by the five former states' governors whose tenure of offices were recently declared ended since May last year by the Supreme Court but had spent eight extra months in office.
"Their political appointees during this illegal period should follow suit. Their appointors went to court for interpretation of the Constitution. Now that they know what the law says, they should do what the law wants by refunding the eight months' salaries. This is what should be done in a society with sanity and not impunity".
