Kwara CAN not enemy of govt - Olobatoke

Date: 2015-03-09

The founder of The Resolution Church of Christ, Primate (Dr.) M.S. Olobatoke, has said the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Kwara State chapter is not an enemy of the state government.

Olobatoke stated this yesterday during the Sunday service held in the church premises. In his words, "CAN is not an enemy of the government and we have never been. Even during the issue of return of schools we were never an enemy of government. I stand here as a stakeholder in CAN to tell whoever cares to listen that CAN is not against government."

Also speaking on the recent hate video in circulation in the state, the man of God explained that those showing it were not doing so to incite the populace. He said it was not to make christians to fight muslims or vice versa."CAN is not instigating its members against people of other faith or even government," he said.

While commending the wife of the state governor, Mrs. Omolewa Ahmed, who was also in the church to worship, the man of God said "there are some reasons why I admire and respect this child of Zion.

"She is respectful, she is a lover of God, despite where she found herself she did not deny Jesus and also she does not discriminate in churches she identifies with, as long as the name of Jesus is called there and God is worshiped wholeheartedly she identifies with them."

He therefore pray for God's guidance and protection for her and her family. Women elders of the church also offered fervent prayers on behalf of the First Lady.
