Ahmed, while reacting to the Man-of-the-Competition award to the Flying Eagles star Taiwo Awoniyi at the just-concluded Glo Super 4 competition in Abuja, noted that Awoniyi, a native of the state, benefited from the state’s government talent hunts programme for the youth.

The Governor in a statement in Ilorin by his Chief Press Secretary Abdulwahab Oba, said Awoniyi, would be given all the needed supports to enable him reach the zenith of his chosen career like other known international football stars like the Argentine Lionel Messi.

He said, “We monitored cleverly the recently concluded Super Six Invitational Tournament in Abuja, especially the performances of Awoniyi, a Kwaran, who featured for the Flying Eagles that defeated all the Premier League Clubs at the tournament before pulling a draw with the national Under 23 team.
