Kwara APC inaugurates campaign committee for Feb elections.

Date: 2015-01-12

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, has inaugurated its campaign team for next month’s general elections with the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Honourable Razak Atunwa ,as its Direcor- General.

Inaugurating the committee, the APC leader in the state, Dr. Bukola Saraki, said the party would record total victory in the elections.

He said with the calibre of membership of the campaign committee and the verifiable achievements of the disciples of the Saraki political dynasty in governance since 2003, the forthcoming elections would be a walk over for the APC.

He added that the pedigree of the APC presidential candidate, Geneneral Muhammadu Buhari and Governor AbdulFatah Ahmed, was an edge for the APC.

Saraki, who compared chances of APC presidential candidate and the governorship candidate in the state and that of President Goodluck Jonathan and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), candidate in the state to “that of light and darkness”, said that the PDP campaigners were bereft of idea on how to move the nation forward.

“That is the reason why their campaign has not been issues- based. What have PDP campaigners able to point to as the achievements of Jonathan?”, he asked rhetorically.

Speaking on the PDP governorship candidate in the state, Saraki said, “We know him. We know him”.

He was optimistic that the intimidating, tested and trusted structure of APC will make candidates of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)fall like “sacrificial dogs”.

Saraki, who said he had led the current political structure in the state to battle three times and conquered, added that “We have gone to battle and we have conquered. We did it in 2003,we repeated in 2007,we repeated it 2011 and Insha Allah we shall repeat it in 2015,”he said.

Saraki charged the team to work hard as the APC in the coming elections, was not going out only to secure a landslide victory but to send a strong message to the PDP that power belongs to the people.

“We don’t want 60:40,we don’t want 70:30,we don’t want 80:20, a minimum of 90 per cent and above.

“This is your goal, your goal is not just to win but to send a strong message that kwara belongs to kwarans ,it does not belong to south-south,God is here , they should leave kwara alone, they should not interfere in kwara,”he added.

Saraki’ s assertion was corroborated by the state governor,Alhaji AbdulFatah Ahmed who vowed that the APC will make all PDP candidates in the coming elections fall like sacrificial dogs by defeating them hands down at the poll.

Ahmed said” the PDP since the beginning of its campaigns could not explain to Nigerians why they should vote for Jonathan in the next month’s election”.

The state chairman of the APC,Hon. Ishola Balogun Fulani advised members of the party not to be deceived by the various religious togas being carried on by some candidates of the PDP saying “anyone that is not in APC you are no where”.

In his remarks, the Director- General of the campaign team ,Barr. Razak Atunwa urged members of the party not to be intimidated by presence of military and police on election days ,assuring that APC has all it takes to win elections in the state.
