1,000 PDP Youths Decamp to APC in Kwara

Date: 2014-12-31

Ahead of the 2015 general election, no fewer than 1,000  members of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)  in Owode/Onire constituency of Asa Local Government Area of Kwara State have dumped the party for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The members, according to THISDAY checks, were said to be mainly  youths from the area who said they dumped the PDP due to alleged instability in the party.

It was gathered that apart from this, the decampees alleged that the  PDP was full of impunity, imposition and not ready to involve youths and women in the task of moving the PDP forward in the state.

The  decampees were also  said to be moved  by the sterling leadership of the former governor of the state and leader of APC in the state, Senator Bukola Saraki.

The decampees were also said to be impressed with the performances of the incumbent governor of the state, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed and the lawmaker representing the area who is also the speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon. Razak Atunwa.
