THE Zonal Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), comprising of Kwara, Kogi and Ekiti states, Assistant Corps Marshal Denis Garuba has canvassed the involvement of more state governors in reducing accidents on the nation's roads.

Garuba, yesterday in Ilorin at a sectoral workshop for Special Marshals in Kwara State said the involvement of the governors via public identification with the special marshals would confer more honour and dignity on their humanitarian services.

He lauded two unnamed governors in the South West geo political zone whom he said have identified with the activities of the Special Marshals, describing them as models in the area of upholding sanity on the nation's roads.

"Two governors in the South West Nigeria have volunteered to be special marshals.

This, no doubt, has conferred credibility on Special Marshals in Nigeria. It is a good thing and I hope many other governors will help out. We need to praise the special marshals for their selfless services to the nation. We are happy that they are now relating well."

He described the about 1,151 members of the Special Marshals as the largest in his zone, urging them to use their number to engender accident free trips within the state.
