The committee stated this today when the committee led by its Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Ayo Garba, visited the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari in his palace.

Alhaji Garba noted that the committee's visit to the monarch was to keep him abreast of its forthcoming annual end of Ramadan programme scheduled to hold on Saturday at the Emir's palace where a Lagos based Islamic cleric, Alhaji Abdulwahab Zubair Al-Gamawy, will deliver lecture.

According to him, "Ilorin Emirate right from onset is known for peaceful co-existence and harmonious working relationship among its people. This unique qualities has in addition adjudged the community as the most peaceful place in the nation.

"There is no doubt that your reign as the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman, Kwara State Traditional Council is witnessing tremendous growth and development across the state", even as they prayed Allah to continue to guide and guard Alhaji Sulu-Gambari.

In his response, Alhaji Sulu-Gambari warned the people of Ilorin and its environs against embarking on acts capable of dividing the community urging them to shun violence at all times.

He also maintained that with unity of purpose among the entire citizenry, Ilorin community and Kwara State at large can successfully maintain its status as the most peaceful place in Nigeria stressing that, "Let us love each other and respect the rights of the people in our neighbourhood." .

Alhaji Gambari however commended the group for its strides towards promoting and sustaining the cultural heritage of the Ilorin Emirate.
