2015: Kwara PDP Holds Retreat, Charges Members On PVC
The Kwara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has urged its members to make themselves available during the forthcoming distribution of permanent voters’ cards (PVC) and continuous voters’ registration (CVR) by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The state chairman of the party,Akogun Iyiola Oyedepo said the programme “forms the beginning of its electoral success in the 2015 elections in the state.”
Oyedepo sensitized the party members on the importance of the programme at the weekend in Ilorin, the state capital at one day retreat for members. The retreat is entitled: “A new day for the development of Kwara state.”
“The first assignment arising from this retreat is the INEC programme of PVC and CVR; while PVC commences on the 18th of July to 20th of July, CVR is from 24th day of July to 29th July 2014. Both are very important to the winning elections of 2015.
“If you participated in the last voters registration exercise what you hold is just temporary voters card which INEC now wants to exchange for new and permanent one. Nobody will be allowed to vote with the one you have in your hands. It is therefore important to know and get it properly explained to others that if you do not get your voters card changed to the permanent one, it is as good as not being registered at all. The CVR is for those that were not registered.
“The assignment before all of us is to mobilize prospective voters for either PVC or CVR. Both are very important and are for very short duration.”
Oyedepo expressed optimism that the PDP would emerge victorious in the state in the 2015 general elections.
“I urge you to receive the training so as to be part of historic push that will make the old derelict wall to crumble,” he said.
