Zulu-Oloje Presents N2.1bn Budget for Ilorin-West
Out of the budget, over 1.3 billion naira is earmarked for the recurrent expenditure while eight hundred and forty-six million naira is for the capital expenditure.
Economic affairs has the highest votes with the sum of two hundred and eighty million naira, followed by Recreation, Culture and Religion which got the sum of one hundred and eighty million naira while education sector has Education one hundred million naira.
Laying the budget proposal tagged: ‘Budget of Hope and Betterment’ before the lawmakers at the Legislative Chamber of the Secretariat, Warah-Osin, Ilorin, the Chairman disclosed that the budget was to rekindle the hope of the people in good governance in spite financial challenges.
Alhaji Sulu-Oloje recalled that before he assumed office the Council’s Internally Generated Revenue was less than one million naira monthly but today it has shot up to five million naira monthly.
The Chairman commended the Speaker, Alhaji Abdulraheem Bolaji for their patriotic partners in bringing the desired development to the area and implored the
Legislative arm to ensure speedy passage of the budget. In his response, the Speaker of the Legislative Arm, Alhaji Abdulraheem Bolaji promised that the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation would collaborate with other standing committees to ensure quick ratification and amendment where necessary
