Supporters of Mr. Dele Belgore, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State have met with the leadership of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, prompting speculation about Belgore’s future in the APC.

Belgore, a governorship candidate of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in 2011, is aggrieved that the national leadership of the APC handed over the APC structure to defecting governors including Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed.

Though Belgore has vehemently denied dumping the APC for PDP, some of his supporters led by Rev. Bunmi Olusona met PDP stakeholders yesterday at the party secretariat on Sango Road, Ilorin.

However, Belgore’s media aide, Rafiu Ajakaye told Weekly Trust that it was mere speculation that Belgore has agreed to work with the PDP, saying he would make his next step known to the public soon.

Party chieftains present at the meeting were, Special Adviser to the President on Ethics and Values, Mrs. Sarah Jubril; Hon. Yekini Alabi, Princess Bilikisu Gambari, Alhaji L. A. K. Jimoh, Rev. Bunmi Olusona, Alhaji Rasheed Alada, Hon. Abdulfatai Salman, among others.

Chairman, Caretaker Committee of the party, Hon. Christopher Edoja commended the appointment of Senator Suleiman Ajadi as the Special Adviser on National Assembly Matters by the President.

He urged members to remain firm and loyal to the party.
