The people of Offa, headquarters of Offa Local Government Area have been implored to make love, peace, unity and mutual understanding their watchword in order to move the ancient town forward.

The Mogaji of Olugbense Ruling House, Offa, Pa Sheu Funsho Oyeniyi made the call at the annual general meeting of the Ruling House held yesterday at the Olugbense Palace, Ile-Oba Oke, Offa. Pa Oyeniyi who emphasized that there can be no development in the rancour of violence and acrimony said it is our responsibility to compliment government efforts in the development of our town as government alone cannot do it.

The Ruling House leader commended the people of Offa for their spirit of tolerance, unity, peace, love and accommodating urging them to maintain the tempo while urging those resident abroad should live in peace and harmony with their host community.

In an interview with a news correspondent, the candidate of the Olugbense Ruling House to the stool of the Olofa, Prince AbdulRafiu Keji commended members of the Ruling House for their support and implored them to maintain the tempo while the interest and development of Offa should be paramount in their minds.

Prince Raufu Keji also appealed to the people to use all their God-given talent and resources for the development of Offa in general and the Ruling House in particular.

He also appealed to the people of Offa to always be law abiding and eschew all acts capable of denting their image or bring their community into  ridicule.

The general meeting which was attended by members of the family from many parts of the country also featured special prayer for the peace, unity and progress of the family, Offa community, Kwara and Nigeria.
