Mrs Ahmed distributes Sallah gifts to women
As part of activities marking this year's Eid-el-Kabir celebration, wife of the Kwara State Governor, Mrs Omolewa Ahmed, yesterday, distributed cash and materials to no fewer than 2,000 aged women.
Some of the items given to the women drawn from across the state at the event held at Mandate Hall, Adewole area, Ilorin, included bags of rice and lace materials.
Similarly, the governor's wife has, at the weekend, distributed clothing materials, food items and cash to 400 political groups with about 14,000 members in the state.
The gesture formed part of Mrs Ahmed's way of celebrating with Muslims in the state and also giving the less privileged a sense of belonging.
