Ilorin court orders suspected fake doctor to be remanded
An Ilorin Magistrates' Court on Thursday remanded a suspected fake doctor, Omololu Adebayo, for allegedly parading himself as a trained medical practitioner.
The 30-year-old was said to have been practising without requisite professional qualification since 2012.
The police prosecutor, Insp Nasiru Yusuf, told the court that the accused was working at Day Spring Medical Centre, Tanke, with a forged University of Ilorin certificate.
Yusuf said investigation revealed that the accused presented a forged Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery certificate to the owner of the hospital which got him a job as medical doctor.
He said a petition written against the accused by the Ilorin branch of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) led to his arrest.
