DSS clears Saraki, says stolen N310m not his

Date: 2017-04-03

Hours after Senate President Bukola Saraki denied the ownership of N310million said to have been stolen from his Maitama, Abuja home in 2015, the department of State Security Service (DSS) has collaborated his claim.

The DSS said on Sunday night that the money in question did not in any way belong to Saraki or any member of the National Assembly.

The security operative instead alleged that its dismissed staff, Abdulrasheed Maigari, who is currently standing trial for armed robbery, fabricated the lie for a hidden motive.

Saraki had in an earlier statement on Sunday, while denying ownership of the money, warned those allegedly working hard to tarnish his image and name through fabricated stories and allegations that enough is enough.

Maigari, an ex- DSS operative, had claimed that he and others stole N310million cash from the home of Saraki in Abuja while he was working for him as a security operative.
