As part of efforts to provide conducive atmosphere for corps members undergoing orientation in Kwara State, the state government has presented 500 mattresses to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), orientation camp, Yikpata.

Speaking during the presentation of the items, Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, who spoke through the Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Anthony Kayode Towoju, reiterated the state government's commitment towards youth development.

The governor, who said the present administration was determined to provide conducive atmosphere for the corps members to excel, added that the donation was a fulfilment of promise made by the governor two weeks ago to enhance the corps members' comfort at the camp.

He also charged the youth to use their experience at the camp to better their future, adding that the government would continue to do everything possible in empowering the youth.

Also speaking, the state Coordinator, NYSC, Mrs Ezinne Ngozi Ezekwe, commended the state government for fulfilling its promise to the corps members, just as she requested for construction of additional hostels as well as perimetre fencing of the camp.

"The fact that this camp is most ideal orientation camp cannot be wished away. In view of this, the continuous improvement of facilities in the camp will make it more conducive for the users,” she said.

Speaking on behalf of corps members, Oni Peter Olutope, thanked the state government for its kind gesture as he pledged judicious use of the items.
