Press Release - Offa Re-Run: Kwara PDP disowns councillor as impostor
The party therefore threatened to take legal action against him having deflected to the Alliance Progressive Congress before the recently re-run election in Offa in which he claimed to be a PDP candidate.
According to the State Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Yemi Afolayan the man who claimed to be a member of PDP and claimed not to have won the councillorship election defected two years ago to the Action Congress of Nigeria [ACN] and served as an agent of alliance for progressive change in the last rerun local government election in Offa.
The PDP , the Secretary added,on realizing Olawale's defection substituted his name as councillorship candidate with that of Kamarudeen Olaleken for Shawo South West and wondered how he could now claim to be a member of the ruling party.
The leaders of the party who displayed the documents and letters to the state independent commission notifying them of the change in name of the candidate threatened to sue Afolabi Jimoh Olawole and called on the public to disregard his claim of being a member of the party.
The briefing was attended by the original candidate from the ward who expressed surprise at the action of Jimoh Olawole who has parted with the party for long.
Other councilors from the remaining eleven wards under the PDP were also at the briefing.
