The people of Ifelodun Local Government, Kwara State yesterday converged at St James (CAC) primary school, share where they affirmed the candidature of Alhaji Tunde Salami as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flag bearer for the chairmanship position in the next council election.

Salami emerged as the consensus candidate among the three aspirants earlier cleared to vie for the position by the PDP screening Committee fro Ifelodun Local Government Area.

The PDP General Secretary in Ifelodun Local Government, Alhaji Isiaka Olawepo who acted on behalf of the party elders forum and party executive requested the people to indicate their view on the decision of the PDP to adopt outcome of the various party screening exercise which lead to the nomination of Salami as the PDP flag bearer in the next council election in the state.

Consequently, the people in their hundreds rose and clap for the candidate (Alhaji Tunde Salami) who was taken round the gathering by the PDP chairman in Kwara South Senetorial district.

Alhaji S.O Yusuf, the chairman of PDP elders forum in Ifelodun Local Government Alhaji Kola Yusuf and Alhaji Olalekan Alabi, PA (Political) to the Executive Governor of the State (Dr) Abdulfatah Ahmed.

Reacting to his endorsement, Salami thanked the state political leader, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, the various PDP screening Committees and the acceptance by the Ifelodun people, thanking God for giving Kwara State a leader like Saraki. This, According to him has engender the prevailing peace in the state.

He thanked the people of the council, promising that he will not betray the confidence reposed in him by the party leader Abubakar Bukola Saraki, the Governor of the state, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed and the people of the area.
