Eid-el Fitri: Atunwa urges Muslims to adhere to Ramadan lessons
The Speaker, Kwara state House of Assembly, Barrister Abdulrazak Atunwa has urged Muslims in Nigeria to let the numerous lessons of the Holy month continue with them after the expiration of Ramadan. He said they should allow the lesson the holy month taught them to ensure a worthy and peaceful co-existence in the country. Atunwa who gave the advice in Ilorin while felicitating with the Nigerian Muslims on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr sallah celebration in a statement by his Special Assistance on Media, Alhaji Abdul Rahman Sanni.
He noted with delight that Muslims had imbibed the virtues of tolerance, love, benevolence, perseverance, sacrifice and peaceful co-existence during the holy month and enjoined them to sustain the virtues to fast track the restoration of peace, stability, and transformation of the nation. He counselled Muslims not to use the Eid-el-Fitr celebration for mere merry making but for reflection on issues impeding on the stability, peace and progress of the nation.
The Speaker who described Islam as a religion of peace advised Muslims to continue to be shining examples to other faithfuls noting that the nation had witnessed turbulent period within the last few years of her nationhood due to intolerance, political, and ethnic religious bigotry as well as inordinate ambition of some individuals.
