Shooting Stars deny Kwara United allegations
Kwara United had alleged that fans of Shooting Stars attacked their fans, players and match officials after the game. The Ilorin side also said they lost their camera during the fracas caused by Ibadan fans.
Shooting Stars media officer, Jubril Arowolo told Goal that there is no truth in what Kwara United have alleged happened after the game.
"I am surprised that Kwara United will spread unfounded rumuors that our fans attacked their fans and also the match officials," said Arowolo.
"The point remains that the fans were not happy that referee Christanus Okoro disallowed two goals scored by my players. It is normal that fans will express their unhappiness, but I can assure you that they did not molest or attack anybody.
"Kwara United should know what to say when they fail to get the result they expect in matches. When we visited Ilorin, nobody touched us, so why do you think anybody will beat them for coming to Ibadan.
"We played better in that game last Wednesday and ask anybody who watched the game and they will tell you that nobody was touched after the game.
"They also said the match officials were beaten. But that is not true and they should look for their camera because we did not see their camera after the game.
"Clubs should learn to accept the result of every game and stop spreading rumuors. I don't know what Kwara United stands to gain by saying that our fans attacked everybody after the game in Ibadan.
"Our supporters are law abiding and know what is expected on them at every given time," Arowolo said.
