The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kwara State Command, has deployed 1,200 personnel across the state ahead of the Eid-El Maulid celebration.

The deployment is aimed at strengthening security and protecting lives and property throughout the celebration.

The personnel have been deployed to strategic locations, including places of worship, markets, motor parks, major roads, recreational centres and Critical National Assets and Infrastructure.

The State Commandant, Abbas Ndah Mohammed, also directed specialised units, including the Special Female Squad, Counter Terrorism Unit, Agro Rangers and CBRNE Unit, to remain on heightened alert throughout the celebration.

Mohammed urged residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies to ensure a peaceful celebration.

He also called on members of the public to promptly report suspicious persons, movements or activities to the relevant authorities.

The commandant congratulated Muslim faithful across Kwara on the occasion of Eid-El Maulid and urged them to celebrate peacefully while promoting unity, tolerance and peaceful coexistence.

The NSCDC assured residents that adequate security measures had been put in place to ensure a peaceful and orderly celebration across the state.
