APC's Adewoye Pays N3.8m Medical Bills for Two Indigent Patients in Ilorin

Date: 2026-07-27

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Kwara South Senatorial District in the 2027 general elections, Prince Olalekan Adewoye, has paid N3.8 million in medical bills for two indigent patients receiving treatment at the Kwara State University Teaching Hospital (formerly General Hospital), Ilorin.

Speaking during a visit to the hospital on Saturday, Adewoye said the intervention was aimed at securing the immediate discharge of the patients, who had been unable to settle the cost of their treatment due to financial constraints.

In addition to settling the outstanding medical bills, the APC senatorial candidate donated N1 million to support other patients admitted to the ward with feeding and other immediate welfare needs.

According to him, the intervention was intended to bring relief and restore hope to patients undergoing treatment.

Adewoye said true leadership and genuine wealth should be measured by the positive impact individuals make in the lives of others, particularly the less privileged, rather than by personal possessions.

He stressed that showing compassion and providing support to those in need is a fundamental responsibility of leaders committed to the well-being of society.

The senatorial candidate also prayed for the speedy recovery of all patients in the hospital, asking God to grant them good health and reunite them with their families.

The gesture was warmly received by patients, their relatives and hospital staff, who expressed appreciation and offered prayers for Adewoye.

Medical personnel at the hospital described the intervention as a commendable humanitarian effort, noting that it would significantly ease the burden on the beneficiaries and inspire others to support vulnerable members of society.

Prince Adewoye has continued to carry out philanthropic initiatives across Kwara South, with interventions spanning healthcare, education, youth empowerment and community development.
