Offa-Born Professor Abiodun Lukman Azeez Appointed Professor of Neurosurgery at University of Utah
Offa-born Professor Abiodun Lukman Azeez has been appointed a Professor of Neurosurgery at the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, United States of America.
This was contained in a statement by Comrade Taofeek Olalekan Olaosebikan, National Public Relations Officer, Offa Descendants' Union (ODU), National Headquarters, Offa dated 27 June, 2026.
The disclosure was made in a press release issued on Saturday, June 27, 2026, by the National Public Relations Officer of the Union, Comrade Taofeek Olalekan Olaosebikan, on behalf of the National President, Alhaji Dr. Azeez Salako Muideen Olaniyi.
According to the statement, Professor Azeez's appointment is a significant milestone not only in his illustrious career but also in the history of Offa, as he remains the first Offa-born Neurosurgeon. The Union described the achievement as a source of immense pride for the entire Offa community and a testament to the excellence, resilience, and determination for which Offa sons and daughters are renowned.
Professor Azeez, who hails from Obadoke Compound in Offa, is a graduate of the University of Ilorin and has distinguished himself in medicine, research, and academia.
He is a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, and the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
The ODU noted that his elevation to the rank of Professor at the University of Utah reflects his outstanding contributions to neurosurgery, medical education, and scientific research on the global stage.
The Union further stated that Professor Azeez's accomplishments should serve as a source of inspiration to young people in Offa and beyond, encouraging them to pursue excellence and uphold the values of hard work, integrity, and dedication.
While wishing the renowned neurosurgeon continued success, the Union prayed that Almighty Allah grants him good health, greater wisdom, and more remarkable achievements in his academic and professional endeavours.
