p>The Kwara North Development Commission (KNDC) has accused Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of secretly funding the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the state. The group alleged that the Governor's support is part of a strategic move to strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement jointly signed by its President, Abdullahi Mansuma, and Publicity Secretary, Hajia Zainabu Seko, the KNDC claimed that the ADC's presence in Kwara is being sustained by the Governor and his agents. The group further alleged that the ADC has never criticized the Governor's administration, citing this as evidence of a covert alliance.

The statement described the Governor's alleged actions as anti-party activity, claiming he is supporting a rival party while publicly leading the All Progressives Congress (APC).

However, the leadership of the ADC has swiftly denied the allegations. A party chieftain and former Nigerian Ambassador to Japan, Professor Isa Gana, described the claims as "blatant lies."

Professor Gana, who is also a former Deputy Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, questioned the logic behind the accusation, asking why the Governor would fund a party that intends to wrestle power from the APC. He also stated that he was unaware of the existence of the Kwara North Development Commission, the body making the allegations.

The controversy highlights growing political tensions in the state as various interest groups begin to position themselves for the next electoral cycle.
