Date: 2025-10-28

Nile University defeated Kwara Falcons with a narrow score of 76-74 in their first game of the 2025 Nigeria Premier Basketball League Final 8 tournament.

The first quarter began in a frenetic fashion, with both sides trading blows. Kwara Falcons' Babatunde Abdulsamad proved a constant threat to Nile University, while his teammate, the diminutive Adeloye Adewunmi, used his speed and skill effectively.

The intensity was underlined by beautiful 3-pointers from Nile's Emmanuel Oijoga and an immediate steal from Falcons' Adeloye. However, the Falcons managed to edge the first period, ending the quarter ahead 21-17 after a free throw conversion by Adeloye.

The second quarter maintained the same high pace. Falcons' Babatunde capitalized on a breakaway to increase the distance between his side and Nile University. While Nile's Austine Akpejokie converted one of his two free throws, Godswill Akunebu of Kwara Falcons quickly restored the gap, ensuring the Falcons continued to lead through aggressive play.

Two more free throws converted and some top tier defending from him kept Nile at bay but a 3-pointer from Nile's Emmanuel Awolope cut the deficit for his team. Then Moseno Hunuohashi narrowed it even further wirh a free throws after a basket good. All of a sudden, Nile were in the Zone.
