Governor AbdulRazaq Sanctions Recruitment of 2,600 More Forest Guards
Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has given the go-ahead for the recruitment of an additional 2,600 forest guards. This move is part of the continuous strategy to tackle the escalating security issues across Kwara North and Kwara South Senatorial Districts.
These new recruits will boost the existing force of 700 forest guards already deployed. The currently serving guards are working at the frontline alongside conventional security agencies, actively battling banditry and striving to bring back peace to the troubled communities.
The 2,600 new forest guards, whose intensive training will kick off this week, are scheduled to receive advanced military instruction. This training includes mastering the handling of sophisticated weapons and learning modern strategies required for neutralising threats on the battlefield, similar to their predecessors.
This expanded recruitment drive highlights the Governor's dedication to fortifying the state's security structure. The objective remains clear: to ensure that criminal elements are comprehensively rooted out and enduring peace is restored throughout Kwara State.
