Date: 2024-11-13

The Third-Estate, a prominent socio-cultural group of professionals from the Ilorin Emirate, has lauded Emir Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari for his distinguished leadership and his steadfast dedication to promoting peace and harmony within the emirate and beyond.

During an interactive session with PRNigeriaCentre Fellows in Ilorin, the group's President, Mr. Ibrahim Toyin Hassan, praised the Emir's impactful reign in celebration of his 29th anniversary on the throne.

Mr. Hassan highlighted that since ascending to the throne in 1995, Emir Sulu-Gambari has been instrumental in the emirate's and Kwara State's development. Notably, under his leadership, Ilorin has produced three state governors: Admiral Muhammad Alabi Lawal (late), Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, and the current governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, as well as several prominent national political figures.

“Alongside these political milestones, the emir has played a pivotal role in enhancing educational access as several universities were established in his domain including Kwara State University, Malete; Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin; Ojaja University, Eyenkorin; Muhammad Kamalud-Deen University, Ilorin; and the Kwara State University of Education, Ilorin,” Mr. Hassan remarked.

He also highlighted the revival of the Durbar festival, which has strengthened cultural unity within the emirate, along with the introduction of new chieftaincy titles, fostering a sense of pride and identity among the people.

Notably, significant investments in local industries have bolstered the economy, with companies such as Kam Holdings Limited, Dangote Flour, LUBCON, Tuyil Pharmaceutical Industries, and Shelter Setters Company contributing to this growth.

“The media landscape in Ilorin has also seen substantial evolution. Beyond traditional electronic, print, and multimedia platforms, PRNigeria has established training hubs aiming to nurture a new generation of media professionals.

“On the infrastructural front, the Emir's palace, modernized housing, and improved road networks stand as testaments to the infrastructural progress achieved during his reign. Additionally, the Emir has fostered harmonious relationships across diverse communities, positioning many Ilorin natives in key roles in various sectors.

These accomplishments underscore the Emir's steadfast dedication to Ilorin's growth and prosperity, and Third-Estate is proud to celebrate his ongoing successes on the throne.

Moreover, Malam Yushau Shuaib, Editor-in-Chief of PRNigeria, lauded Emir Sulu-Gambari for his wisdom, compassion, and unwavering dedication to the well-being of his people.

Emphasizing the Emir's role as the Chairman of the Council of Traditional Rulers and Chiefs in Kwara State, he noted that the Emir's leadership has positioned him as a highly revered figure, recognized for his exceptional leadership capabilities and impressive professional accomplishments.

Shuaib added that under the Emir's visionary guidance, the Ilorin emirate has experienced unprecedented peace and tranquility, extending its influence beyond local borders.

His philanthropic efforts, particularly in transforming the Ilorin Central Mosque into a world-class edifice, further exemplify his unwavering commitment to community development.

With an impressive educational background from the University of London and the Nigeria Law School, the Emir has also served as Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University and Bayero University Kano. His commitment to maintaining regional harmony and stability has garnered widespread admiration, solidifying his reputation as a wise, compassionate, and dedicated leader.
