Date: 2024-09-18

As reported on the Kwara State Government Facebook page, Dr. Adetola Ariyike Salau, the Special Adviser on Education, made an impactful visit to Offa Grammar School on Tuesday, September 11, 2024, during the final week of the Free Summer Coding and Digital Literacy Bootcamp for public school students across Kwara State.

Dr. Salau expressed her deep gratitude to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his visionary leadership in supporting the initiative, which has provided public school students with free access to essential digital skills. She also extended her appreciation to Hon. Ishola Kayode, the Special Adviser on Digital Innovations, for championing the initiative and ensuring its smooth execution.

Interacting with the bootcamp participants, Dr. Salau was impressed by the students' newfound confidence and digital knowledge. She noted the remarkable progress of students who had little to no experience with computers before the program, praising the initiative for significantly enhancing the technological capabilities of young learners in the state.

Interacting with the bootcamp participants, Dr. Adetola Ariyike Salau was impressed by the knowledge and confidence many students had gained during the program. She noted that many students, some of whom had little to no experience with computers at the start, have shown great improvement in their digital competencies.

One particularly inspiring story was that of a participant who, before the bootcamp, struggled to use a mouse. Now, not only can the students handle basic computer functions, but they have also developed an impressive project showcasing the life-changing impact of the program.

Dr. Salau reaffirmed the government's commitment to enhancing digital education in Kwara State and ensuring that public school students are not left behind in the digital age. She further encouraged the students to apply the knowledge they have acquired in their academic pursuits and beyond.

The Kwara Free Summer Coding and Digital Literacy Bootcamp is an initiative of the Kwara State Government through the Office of the Special Assistant Digital Innovations to the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Ishola Kayode.
