KWASU Set to Take Fine Arts to Next Level
According to news report from Kwara State University Facebook page, the Kwara State University has expressed its commitment to taking the Department of Fine And Applied Arts to the next level, with plans to leverage its facilities and resources.
Speaking after an exhibition at the Department on Monday 9th September, 2024, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Administration Professor Moshood Jimba, who represented the Vice Chancellor, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, stated that the University is proud of the department's achievements and is ready to support its growth.
"We have the people, we have the Departmen, and we have the resources. What we need now is to take everything to the next level," Prof. Jimba said. "We need to make better use of the resources we have to propel the institution to greater heights."
Professor Jimba emphasized the need for collaboration and synergy among stakeholders to achieve this goal. "We need to work together, support each other, and empower ourselves to make things work," he said.
He also highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship and mass production of the artwork to generate revenue for the university.
The Head of Department, Fine and Applied Arts, Professor Binta Sulyman, said the department is ready to leverage the existing resources to achieve greater heights.
Professor Binta stated that once the department moves to it's permanent site in Osi, there will be enough facilities and space to grow.
The exhibition showcased the creative works of students and staff of the department.
