Al-Hikmah University Promotes First Female Professor

According to a news report from Daily Trust, the Governing Council of Al-Hikmah University in Ilorin, Kwara State, has approved the promotion of Moriam Adeyemi Aremu and seven other academic staff to the rank of professor.

Aremu stands out as the only female among the promotees, making her the first female professor in the nearly 20-year history of the university, which was founded in 2005.

From the Department of Business Administration, Aremu joined the services of Al-Hikmah University in 2009 as an assistant lecturer and rose to reader in 2021. She was appointed acting Head of Department in 2013 and is currently the Director, Centre for Summer Studies, Al-Hikmah University.
