Nigerian Army to Leverage Retired Generals' Expertise for Core Mandates

Date: 2024-06-06

According to a news report from TVC News, the Nigerian Army Education Corps has announced its intention to utilise the experience of retired generals to achieve its core mandates. Major General Bello Tsoho, the Army Education Corps Commander, made this known during a pulling-out ceremony for 16 retired generals at Sobi Cantonment, Ilorin, Kwara State.

The ceremony featured a special parade involving 7 officers and 109 men of the Nigerian Army in honour of the retiring generals. These generals have either served for 35 years or reached the mandatory retirement age of 60.

Reflecting on their years of service, the retired generals expressed satisfaction with their achievements and gratitude for the honour bestowed upon them. They also offered advice to those still in active service, which the leadership of the Nigerian Army Education Corps has vowed to take seriously.

Accompanied by their wives, the retired generals were ceremoniously pulled out of the cantonment in a traditional military tribute to honour their service.
