Emirate Hotels Pledges Support for SWAN Games as Key Partners, Affirms Sports Writers' Guild
According to a news report from Independent, Justice Lambo Akanbi (rtd), chairman of The Emirate Hotels in Ilorin, has promised unwavering support for the upcoming media sports fiesta known as the SWAN Games, scheduled for the final quarter of the year.
The retired judge, who previously served as a commissioner for Youths, Sports, and Culture, affirmed his backing for the media games during a visit by a delegation from the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kwara State chapter, to his office in GRA, Ilorin.
A golf enthusiast himself, Justice Akanbi (rtd) sponsored the successful The Emirate Hotel Ilorin Amateur Golf Tournament in 2024, held at the Ilorin Golf Club. The tournament drew participants from golf clubs nationwide to the capital city of Kwara.
Expressing his sentiments, Justice Akanbi (rtd) acknowledged SWAN as a prominent sports organization, underlining its significance in the sports landscape.
”I believe in your good work, energy and your passion to promote sports.
“I assure you that we will be part of your program.
“And by the special grace of God we would do what ever we can within the limit of our ability and financial capacity,” the retired jurist said.
