On behalf of the people and government of Kwara State, I congratulate the 12th Balogun Alanamu of Ilorin Emirate Dr. Usman Atolagbe Abubakar Jos on the first anniversary of his appointment into the exalted seat. I also congratulate the people of Alanamu and the entire Ilorin Emirate on this remarkable day.

Within just a year, his Balogunship has reflected finesse, scholarship, and a clear commitment to growth and development in a sustainable way. The Balogun exudes grace, class, and the beautiful culture of Ilorin.

He is a man of ideas who promotes self-reliance, economic empowerment, and decent public engagements in an atmosphere of knowledge and respect for the culture and tradition of the people of Ilorin Emirate.

He unmistakably brings a fresh perspective of scholarship and contemporaneous ideas to the seat he occupies. One of such is his resolve to mark his first anniversary with a public lecture that offers quality insights on issues of national importance.

I commend the Balogun for being an advocate of good governance, a pillar of support for young people, and a strong voice of moderation — and for his support for our administration, following the footsteps of Mai Martaba the Emir of Ilorin Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR. We bid him to continue along the noble path of being a true father to his people and an ambassador of this great Emirate.

I pray Allah to continue to bless the 12th Balogun Alanamu and grant him good health, long life, and wisdom to fully execute the responsibilities of the revered office.
