The Administrator of Kwara Football Academy Mal. Ibrahim Bako has announced the award of scholarship to 13-year old goalkeeping sensation – Yusuf Mubaraq at the college.

The Administrator disclosed this while unveiling the beneficiary at a mini ceremony earlier this morinig at the premises of the Academy.

Mal. Bako said the initiative which has been instituted at the Academy is aimed to raise complete student-footballers , who would study and also play football successfully to the highest level.

Mubaraq won a full scholarship worth more than a million Naira per Annum to study at the secondary school of the Academy and would also play football having being recommended by scouts and grassroot coaches in the state.

The Administrator also revealed that over 25 young players with great prospect are benefitting from this gesture at the moment.

“In the past 12 months,I have facilitated the award of scholarships for kids like Yusuf Mubaraq , our emphasis is on indigent but talented kids with great prospect and we will continue to expose talents to the right facilities for them to develop to their true potentials”

“The mandate from the founding vision of the Academy is to give opportunities to talented kids while engaging them with some of the best facilities available thereby taking them away from vices and other unhealthy activities”

He urged the reciepeint of the scholarship to take his study seriously as it is a point of concern at the Academy.

The father of Mubaraq, Mal. Bashir Yusuf Agidi while signing the parental consent form and training agreement expressed his appreciation to the management of Kwara Football Academy for finding his ward worthy of the scholarship and he promised to continue to support him to excel in his career.

Mubaraq Yusuf was a goalkeeping trainee at Legend Football Academy Akerebiata where he bursted into limelight. He kept in goal in an Unde-18 tournament as a 13year old goalie to the admiration of fans, local coaches and scouts. His exploit as spot-kick specialist has been highlighted as a great potential by scouts report.
