Kwara: Man hacks brother to death in bloody fight
A bloody fight between two Fulani brothers of the same parent in the early hours of Friday ended in tragedy at a village in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State.
DAILY POST reports that the bloody fight ensued between Umar Bello and Abdullahi Bello at Dogonruwa village of Woro in Kaiama Local Government Area.
Umar Bello, allegedly hacked Abdullahi Bello to death during the bloody encounter in which dangerous objects were reportedly used.
Spokesman of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Kwara State Command, Babawale Zaid Afolabi, who confirmed the incident in Ilorin on Friday, said the suspect, Umar Bello has been taken into their custody.
He revealed the identity of the suspect to be a Fulani who allegedly hacked his brother, Abdullahi Bello to death over minor misunderstanding.
“In the early hours of Friday, 27/05/2022, our divisional office in Kaima received a distress call that two brothers were engaged in a deadly fight, using dangerous objects like rod and cutlass and that one of them had become unconscious due to loss of too much blood.
“We arrived at the scene of the incident promptly. But the victim died before he could reach the hospital,” Babawale narrated.
He stated further that “the culprit was later picked up and handed over to the police , who subsequently arrived at the scene of the incident for further investigations and possible prosecution.”
“The remains of the deceased have been evacuated from the scene of the incident,” Babawale added.
