Orji, Daniel, Igbinedion Mourn Eso, Saraki

The former governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, has described the demise of retired Justice Kayode Eso as the exit of one of the shaping forces of the country's judiciary, saying the departed Supreme Court Justice contributed immensely to the development of the bench and legal education in the country.

In a statement issued by his media aide, Adegbenro Adebanjo, Daniel said Justice Eso whose activism on the bench was never in doubt personified the best tradition of equity, fairness and justice which the juDaniel also said that the death of the strongman of Kwara politics, Dr. Olusola Saraki , has robbed Nigeria of an astute politician and elder statesman who was consistent in seeking and working for a better deal for his people and the country. Daniel said Saraki belonged to the second generation of Nigerian nationalists who worked to keep Nigeria as a united country and played active roles in steering Nigeria away from the brinks at very difficult times in our her history.

Abia State governor, Chief Theodore Orji, has also described as shocking the sudden exit of Justice Esho.

In a statement by his chief press secretary, Ugochukwu Emezue, Orji stated that the country has lost an icon in the legal profession. The Abia governor i stated that Justice Esho during his lifetime distinguished himself in his chosen profession such that he was admired and respected beyond the shores of the country.

According to the governor, the late erudite justice gave a good account of himself in carrying out all the assignments given to him by the federal government while alive.

And as the family of the late Senate Leader in the Second Republic , Senator Olusola Saraki conducts fidau prayers for his soul today, former Governor of Edo State, Lucky Igbinedion, has described the exit of the late politician as a "loss to Nigerians and lovers of democracy in the country".

Igbinedion in a statement yesterday added that, the legacies of Saraki should not be allowed to waste. "He was a politician per excellence. A philanthropist of the highest order and a man of the people. A colourful politician and a great mentor. Adieu,"he noted.

Igbinedion while commiserating with the family of the late Justice Eso recalled his career on the nation's bench, nothing that,"he was a judicial officer whose tenure on the bench will be difficult to match. Justice Eso was a symbol of rule of law. He was fair and firm jurist.He will be surely missed by all." He also prayed that God will give families of the both elder statemen fortitude to bear the exit of their heroes.
